It was announced on August 9, 2006 that Paris and Nicole had rekindled their friendship and had agreed to shoot the fifth season. But this time, stars and best friends-turned-archenemies Paris and Nicole might not be filmed separately, as they were for season 4. In the simple life 5 Paris and Nicole will be counsellors for multiple camps, including, but not restricted to, a beauty pageant camp, a fat camp and a couples camp. 
| The shooting of the season will start in March, 2007, in Malibu, California and would begin production in November, 2007. The tentative title for the season is 'Goes to camp'. |
